Short answer
- Why does the total differ from the price on the event page?
- The event page shows the ticket price. The total adds a service fee where it applies, and the checkout summary shows it as a separate line.
The summary at checkout shows line by line what you are paying.
- Ticket price. Set by the event organizer.
- Service fee. Added as a separate line where it applies.
- Discount. The amount taken off if you entered a valid discount code.
You see this summary before completing the payment; nothing is added afterwards. The same total appears on your invoice.
