What does the Friends screen show?
Short answer
- Who appears on the Friends screen?
- People in your contacts who use innclude. Turning on Show people I follow adds the people you follow as well.
- Can they see the events I am going to?
- Only while Show my events is on. Turn it off and the events you join stop appearing in anyone’s feed, while you keep seeing theirs.
- The screen looks empty, why?
- Three possible reasons: nobody in your contacts uses innclude, contacts permission is off, or the people you know have no upcoming plans in that range. The screen tells you which.
Friends gathers the upcoming plans of people you know on one screen, grouped by day. A summary sits at the top: how many friends are going to events, the date range, and the venue that comes up most.
What a card says
Each card shows one event and which people you know are going: Deniz is going, Deniz and Ece are going, or for a crowd Deniz and 4 others. If someone you know is organising it, the card says Deniz is organising. If you are going too, it notes You are going. Contacts-only and private plans are marked as such.
Two settings
Page settings in the top right holds two switches that do separate jobs:
- Show my events. Your visibility. While it is on, the events you join appear in the feed of friends in your contacts and the people who follow you.
- Show people I follow. What you see. Friends in your contacts already appear; this switch adds the people you follow to the list.
Turning one off does not affect the other. You can hide yourself and keep seeing everyone else’s plans.
Empty states
When the screen is empty it says why: if nobody in your contacts uses innclude it suggests turning on the follow setting, if both lists are empty it suggests inviting friends, and if there are simply no plans in that range it tells you to check back later. It does not leave you guessing in front of a blank screen.
