How do I invite people to my plan?

Updated: Where this applies: App

Short answer

Who can I invite?
The people you follow and the people in your contacts who use innclude. Both appear in one list you can search.
Can I invite someone who does not use innclude?
Not directly to the plan, because there is no account for the invite to reach. You can invite them to the app from Invite a friend, then add them to the plan.
What if someone I invited does not come?
An invite is not a commitment. The invited person sees the plan and taps Join if they want to come. Whoever joins appears in the list on the event page.

The invite step appears as the third screen while you create a Private plan. With the other types the plan opens to everyone the visibility setting allows, so no separate guest list is needed; you can still add anyone from the event page.

Where the list comes from

The invite list merges two sources:

  • People you follow. No permission needed, since that is already part of your account.
  • People in your contacts who use innclude. They appear if you granted contacts permission.

Both sit in one list you can search by name. With contacts permission off, the list is just the people you follow: it gets shorter, not empty.

Inviting later

Once the plan exists, Manage participants in the three dot menu on the event page changes the list. Adding someone new and removing someone already added happen in the same place.

How an invite looks on the other side

The invited person sees the plan on their home screen and on the Friends screen, where private plans are marked as a Private event. All they need to do is tap Join.

How many you can invite

The app sets no upper limit. In practice the limit is the length of your invite list: as many people as you follow, plus the innclude users in your contacts.
