How is the QR code scanned at the door?

Updated: Where this applies: App

Short answer

Will my ticket open without internet?
Yes. Tickets and their QR codes are stored on your phone and the code is generated on the device rather than downloaded. Just open the app once before the event.
Is a screenshot of the QR code enough?
Not recommended. When the ticket is shown in the app, the staff sees both that it is valid and whether it has already been used.

There is one thing to do at the door: show the QR code on your ticket. The staff scans it and their screen shows whether the ticket is valid and whether it has already been used.

It works without a connection

In a crowd you often have signal but no data. That is why your tickets and their QR codes are stored on your phone. The code is generated on the device from your ticket number, so it exists even with no connection and nothing has to be downloaded.

One condition: open the app once before the event. That is when the ticket is written to your phone.

Before you reach the door

  • Check your battery. The ticket is on the phone; if the phone dies, so does the ticket.
  • Open the app in advance and look at your ticket.
  • Turning screen brightness up makes scanning faster.
  • If you bought several tickets, each attendee has their own QR code.
